AECT Research and Theory Division Nominations for Election Due December 13th 11:59pm

It is that time of the year that we are seeking nominations of future division leaders. This year we have several positions to fill. The positions that we are seeking nominations include the following 1 year positions:

Division Secretary
Graduate Student Member-at-Large
Member-at-Large

and the following 3 year positions:

Communications Officer
Research and Theory Division Representative to the AECT Board

and the
President-Elect Designate, which is a 4 year commitment.

AECT Research and Theory Division Officer Descriptions

One-Year Term Positions

Division Secretary

Documents meetings, prepare minutes and other duties as assigned by the division president.

Graduate Student Member-at-Large

Participates in Research and Theory Division Executive Board meetings. Serves as liaison with the Graduate Student Assembly.

Member-at-Large

Participates in Research and Theory Division Executive Board meetings.

Three-Year Term Elected Positions


Communications Officer

Acts as manager for all R&T communications such as the blog, Ning site, and listserv. May also include design and development of promotional materials, and other duties as assigned by the division president.

Research and Theory Division Representative to the AECT Board

Represents the Research and Theory Division on the AECT Board and report to all division officers

President

The position of the President is a four-year commitment. Once elected, the person in this role will serve as President-Elect Designate, President-Elect, President, and Past President. Within each one year position, the responsibilities are as follows:

President-Elect Designate

The President-Elect Designate is elected prior to the annual convention in which he or she becomes the President-Elect. This position is elected prior to the convention so that he or she can become oriented to the activities of Research and Theory Division and the other members of the division board. The President-Elect Designate assists the President-Elect with conference planning and program proposal evaluation.

President-Elect

Chairs the division convention planning activities while serving on the overall AECT Convention Planning Committee

President

Conducts all business, meetings, and other tasks relating to division activity within AECT and submits semi annual report to AECT Executive Board.

Past President

Manages elections of officers and Research and Theory Division awards.

*All of the above individuals participate in the Research and Theory Division Executive Board meeting once every month.
